Stormwater Regulations Update
Federal EPA and State DENR regulation changes continue to impact land development and construction. The National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES), Phase 2 regulations are now in place for many areas. These regulations require the majority of land disturbance activities to include measures to control stormwater runoff. Typically BMP’s (Best Management Practices) are used to contain and control runoff and the associated pollutants.
In addition to new construction regulations, many jurisdictions now require that existing BMP’s are inspected on a regular basis to insure that they are maintained and continue to function properly. In most instances, these post-construction stormwater inspections are the responsibility of the property owner.
For new BMP projects, or existing devices in need of maintenance, Fleming Engineering can provide cost-effective solutions. We are Certified BMP Inspectors and have years of experience designing BMP’s.
